Workspace Group is set to invest £19m into extending two of it central London sites after winning planning permission for development at Greville Street in Farringdon, EC1, and The Biscuit Factory in Bermondsey, SE16.
The flexible workspace provider will replace the 15,000 sq ft it has across two three-storey office buildings at 12-13 and 14 Greville Street with a five-storey building, providing 23,000 sq ft of net lettable space around 200m from Farringdon station at a cost of £9m.
In Bermondsey, planning consent has been granted for 27,000 sq ft of additional commercial space including a new café and reception, for the enlarged 275,000 sq ft Biscuit Factory business centre, which now comprises nine buildings.
The new project at the centre is expected to cost £10m.
Jamie Hopkins, chief executive of Workspace, said: “The refurbishment projects at Greville Street and The Biscuit Factory will add to our extensive pipeline of activity and allow us to continue to upgrade our properties and further extend our footprint to meet the strong demand for space.”
