A cross-boundary, health-led development; a grass roots community project; a controversial central London regeneration and five other innovative projects impressed this year’s judges enough to make it onto the Collaborator Award shortlist.
The award, which will be presented at the EG Awards on 19 September at the Grosvenor House Hotel, W1, celebrates the individuals or organisations that have worked in partnership to create something bigger than the sum of their parts. Previous winners include Transport for London and the Government Property Unit.
Collaboration can take many forms. It can be anything from two people working together to two billion. It can be two companies merging, councils coming together to form super councils and powerhouses, the use of technology to create more collaborative workspaces, a public-private sector partnership or the collaboration between a number of companies to create JVs to deliver an inspiring building, infrastructure or regeneration project.
This year’s shortlist includes Lendlease’s regeneration of Elephant & Castle, U+I’s Deptford Market Yard, English Cities Fund, The Office Group, Built ID, Loughborough Junction Platform Project, Inner Circle Consulting’s Cancer Hub and the ULI’s build-to-rent best practice guide.
