WeWork dashes into Hyphen in Manchester

WeWork has let the entire 50,000 sq ft Hyphen building on Mosley Street in Manchester.

The flexible office provider has taken all 13 floors in the building, which has recently undergone a £10m refurbishment and will be able to accommodate more than 1,000 people from Q1 2020.

WeWork UK and Ireland head of real estate David Kaiser said: “The news follows the recent signing of Dalton Place, which is set to be the largest WeWork in the city.”

He added: “I look forward to welcoming new members to 75 Mosley Street and continuing to grow our community in Manchester and across the UK and Ireland.”

Other WeWork locations in Manchester include: Tesco Pension Fund’s Dalton Place, Schroder Real Estate’s 1 Spinningfields, and Deka’s 1 St Peter’s Square.

However, it missed out on 125 Deansgate, after talks fell through with landlord Worthington Group in January.

The flexible office provider had been under offer to take about 45,000 sq ft at the 116,000 sq ft office development but negotiations failed, with the landlord concerned about how WeWork could affect the value of the building.

JLL acted on behalf of WeWork.
