Weston Homes and Tesco are proposing the redevelopment of a Tesco store and carpark in Goodmayes into a 1,400-home, mixed-use scheme.
The site, in the borough of Redbridge, north-east London, would be anchored by a new Tesco store and would also feature a primary school, residential amenity space and pedestrian walkways.
An application to redevelop the 10.4-acre site, at 822 High Road, will be submitted in the spring. It will consult with the public within the next few weeks.
The partnership said its goal was to create a local community that includes 35% affordable housing. It has been holding pre-application talks with the council.
