Developer Real has hired former Wates director Ben Cox as chief operating officer.
Cox was at Wates for more than 16 years, including seven years as regional commercial director.
At Real, he is reunited with former colleague Paul Nicholls, who led Wates Residential as managing director for five years. Nicholls left Wates in January and founded Real, through the acquisition of Rydon’s regional businesses in London, the South East and the South West.
The developer has a number of large projects in the region including the £117m development of the High Lane Estate in Hanwell to provide 505 homes for Ealing Council.
Cox will lead the operations and has been appointed to Real’s board.
Real has also hired Stuart Hamilton as regional construction director, in a series of new appointments and promotions.
