Baking firm Warburtons has signed a prelet agreement on a 65,847 sq ft bespoke distribution centre at Symmetry Park in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire.
The firm has agreed a 25-year lease on the cross-docked distribution and office unit, which has on-site EV charging and solar PV arrays.
The development forms a part of the third phase of 150-acre Symmetry Park Biggleswade, which is being brought forward by Tritax. The scheme, which has consent for 927,000 sq ft of sustainable logistics space, sits within Stratton Business Park and is home to Co-op, Bidfood and Noatum Logistics.
Tritax aims to be on site for the third phase in Q4 2024, with completion of the first warehouses expected in Q3 2025.
Jim Norton, head of distribution network transformation for Warburtons, said: “Our new depot at Symmetry Park Biggleswade will be a highly sustainable building which very much aligns with our own core values, whilst the location will enable us to serve more stores, more efficiently.”
Colliers and Bidwells are joint letting agents. JLL, Marsh & Baxter and Gordons advised Warburtons.
