Wagamama owner picks ex-HBOS chief for top job

Andy Hornby is to lead a publicly listed company more than a decade after an ailing HBOS was taken over by Lloyds Banking Group at the height of the financial crisis.

The Restaurant Group, the owner of the Wagamama and Garfunkel’s chains, will announce today that Hornby, 52, is to become Andy McCue’s successor as chief executive on an annual salary of £630,000.

Hornby is leaving his role as joint chief operating officer of GVC Holdings, Ladbrokes’ parent company, according to Sky News.
