After signing the biggest office deal in Birmingham last year, law firm Shoosmiths has given Estates Gazette exclusive access to the company’s new headquarters in the city.
The company started its search for 40,000 sq ft new premises two years ago and shortlisted two other buildings – Carlyle Group’s Colmore Plaza and Hines and Morrfield’s 2 Snow Hill.
It chose the latter and signed the deal on 19th December 2012. With a five month fit out, Shoosmith’s relocated out of its 24,000 sq ft offices at 125 Colmore Row in May this year.
Shoosmiths has taken the largest single floorplate in the city at the 158,000 sq ft building, owned by Nurton Developments as part of the Colmore Square LLP. A 15 year lease was agreed with a 10 year break at a rent of circa £25 per sq ft.
