More than 150 property die-hards took to the 90,000 acre Duke of Buccleuch’s Queensberry Estate near Dumfries last Friday to cycle, run, swim, shoot and splash their way through the 7th Buccleuch Property Challenge.
The 51 teams risked life and limb to overcome a series of gruelling challenges including mountain biking, river crossing, archery, rowing and a few ‘secret’ disciplines including Sumo wrestling and space hopper racing to complete the 44km course, which began at the beautiful Drumlanrig Castle on the estate.
Event host Buccleuch Property’s Dukes of Hazzard teams streaked ahead to take the gold medal in both the same sex and mixed team events.
The event aims to raise thousands of pounds for this year’s nominated charity, The Yard, in Edinburgh, an indoor and outdoor adventure play centre for disabled children.
