US law firm takes Sheffield space

Saville-House-SheffieldMIPIM UK: A US law firm has leased space in Sheffield’s Saville House as part of its UK expansion as take-up soars in the steel city.

Fragomen has signed for 12,000 sq ft at Saville House, bringing full year take-up to 400,000 sq ft.

Take-up for the whole of 2014 was 275,000 sq ft.

It will be Fragomen’s first UK office outside London and will create 100 new jobs in Sheffield over the next two years.

UK managing partner Caron Pope said: “This new office enables the firm to meet the growing demand for our services and provides greater access to new markets in the UK. By selecting Sheffield, the firm benefits from close proximity to the UK Home Office, leading UK universities and businesses outside of London.”

The deal was announced at MIPIM UK.

Sheffield city council executive director of place Simon Green said:  “Seeing these levels of office activity this year is testament to Sheffield’s winning business proposition.”

Knight Frank advised on the deal.
