UK Infrastructure Bank commits to Leeds’ Whitehall Quay

The UK Infrastructure Bank has signed a 15-year lease on a new office in Leeds.

The bank, chaired by former British Land chief executive Chris Grigg, has taken 28,729 sq ft across three floors at 2 Whitehall Quay.

Rents in the building are between £23 and £30 per sq ft.

UKIB, which is vacating the 72,000 sq ft One Embankment, joins National Infrastructure Commission and the Low Carbon Contracts Company in the building.

Just 7,161 sq ft remains available at 2 Whitehall Quay.

James Emmett, chief operating officer of the UK Infrastructure Bank, said: “The fact UKIB is anchored in the city is a key part of the bank’s identity.

“Signing this long-term lease marks the next chapter in UKIB’s development and recognises the strength of the talent and expertise in the region’s vibrant financial ecosystem.”

He added: “Our new premises will provide a space that enables us to house our staff, meet with clients, attract the best talent and collaborate in our mission to tackle climate change and boost growth across the UK.”

Fox Lloyd Jones and CBRE are letting agents on scheme, which is owned by Britannia Invest A/S and asset managed by Catella APAM. Align Property Partners acted for UKIB.
