DAM Estates has secured planning permission for a 131-bed Travelodge hotel and comedy club at
The comedy club currently on the site – owned and run by Lee Hurst – will be demolished, to be replaced by another purpose built comedy club, with a seven-storey Travelodge hotel constructed above it.
Construction is set to be completed by February 2012 in time for the Olympic Games.

The granting of planning permission means that Travelodge is on course to be the biggest hotelier in the capital by 2012 with over 7,000 bedrooms.
Paul Harvey, Travelodge managing director for development, said: “I am delighted that Dam Estates and Savills have secured planning permission for the development of a Travelodge hotel in such a prominent location.
