The Scalpel carves itself slice of City

The latest addition to the City of London’s skyline owes its distinctive geometric design to the fact that certain views of St Paul’s Cathedral are protected.

The Scalpel, which is 190m tall and comprises about 387,000 sq ft of office floor space spread over 35 floors, has let out more than half of the building after announcing yesterday that National Australia Bank and Lombard International had signed up.

On the corner of Lime Street and Leadenhall Street, the development includes an 11,000 sq ft public square at the base of the building.
