The Range takes 475,000 sq ft from Argos in Stafford

Homeware retailer The Range has taken over the former Argos distribution centre in Stafford.

Tenants were sought for the 475,000 sq ft shed after Argos announced it would be closing its facility in August last year.

Stafford 475 occupies a prominent position at Acton Gate in Stafford, directly serving the Midlands and the North West, with the M6 directly adjacent.

John Sambrooks, partner at Gerald Eve, which let the site, said: “The letting of Stafford 475 to The Range and the strong levels of interest we saw during this process highlight the continuing demand for immediately available buildings.”

The letting is one of the biggest in the West Midlands market all year.

Recently Gerald Eve’s Prime Logistics research found that occupier take-up hit record levels of 23.7m sq ft in Q3 this year, driven by demand from online retailers, logistics operators and low-carbon industries. Availability during the period fell to a record low of 4.6%.
