Low-cost gym operator The Gym Group has announced plans to open a 17,700 sq ft outlet in Glasgow city centre.
The group will open its first Scottish operation within Redevco’s 167-201 Argyle Street, in part of the building formerly occupied by Woolworths.
The gym is likely to open in early 2012.
Stuart Moncur, head of retail in Scotland at Cushman & Wakefield, which acted for Redevco, said: “The Gym Group has been seeking to acquire a number of flagship locations across Scotland and this building on Argyle Street in Glasgow meets its specific criteria. The building is located in the heart of the city centre, in arguably one of the busiest junctions, at the corner of Argyle Street and Jamaica Street.”
