Tesco has been granted planning permission to extend its store in Skegness, Lincolnshire, into a Tesco Extra.
The expansion will increase the existing floorspace by almost one-third to 26,600 sq ft, add 156 customer parking spaces and enlarge the on-site petrol station.
The move will generate £150,000 through section 106 payments to East Lindsey district council for projects to improve Skegness town centre’s appearance.
Louise Gosling, corporate affairs manager for Tesco, said: “The permission to expand the store allows us to continue with our investment in Skegness town centre. We are dedicated to working with local communities to generate jobs and services, and are pleased we will now be able to progress with our plans to deliver a bigger and better store for our customers and staff.”
