Tesco to anchor £15m Stalybridge scheme

Supermarkets group Tesco will anchor the new £15m Castle Basin regeneration scheme in the centre of Stalybridge, Greater Manchester with a 5,100 sq m (55,000 sq ft) superstore.

Joint developers CTP and St James are creating the 5,296 sq m (57,000 sq ft) scheme which will include a petrol filling station, a pub or restaurant, two smaller retail units 40 homes and a 409 space car park.

The development will regenerate Stalybridge’s canalside area and extend the existing town centre from the prime pedestrianised area of Grosvenor Street to Trinity Street

CTP St James’s scheme will re-open a stretch of the old Huddersfield Narrow Canal as part of a council-funded Millenium project and renovate an important listed corn mill.

King Sturge is letting agent on the scheme.
