TalkTalk to move HQ from London to Salford

Broadband provider TalkTalk will move its headquarters from London to Salford next year.

TalkTalk, which said it will move hundreds of jobs north from the capital, opened a 106,000 sq ft office at Soapworks in Salford Quays in 2017, replacing its offices in Warrington and Irlam.

Relocating its HQ to Salford is part of TalkTalk’s plan to simplify its business, calling the Soapworks office a success in improving collaboration between teams, supporting a flexible working environment and attracting and retaining talent.

When TalkTalk signed the Soapworks letting in 2015, it was the second largest deal in Salford Quays.

Tristia Harrison, chief executive of TalkTalk, said: “We’re excited to be moving our headquarters to Salford. We’ve always had a base in the North West, but we want to build on that heritage and create a world-class campus for the whole business.”

Paul Dennett, Salford city mayor, added: “Salford is already home to the second largest cluster of digital businesses outside London, and the city is working hard to grow the digital skills and talent for the future.

“TalkTalk has a long-standing and very warm relationship with the city and local communities so I’m delighted to hear of this further investment. It is an exiting new chapter in Salford’s success story as the fastest growing economy in Greater Manchester.”
