The Story of Christmas held its annual cocktail reception last month.
Hosted by Aled Jones (pictured above, centre), the charitable group’s deputy president, the soiree took place on 21 May at the Brigade Bar and Kitchen, a charitable establishment near London Bridge station that trains those who have met with unfortunate circumstances, enabling them to gain employment in the catering industry.
PwC, which owns the space, sponsored the gathering of more than 200 guests. Speeches showcasing the charitable work carried out by the Story of Christmas were given by Aled Jones, Story of Christmas chairman Ian Womack, PwC UK real estate lead Robert Walker and Emma Samms, actress and founder of the charity Starlight.
The event is a precursor to the Story of Christmas service, which takes place on 11 December this year and raises hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity.
