Stanhope in talks to secure Hereford funding

stanhope hereford scheme

Stanhope is in talks to secure funding for its £80m retail and leisure development in Hereford.

The developer is understood to be quietly garnering off-market interest from a handful of potential investors including British Land, LaSalle Investment Management and Universities Superannuation Scheme.

Stanhope is currently preletting the 310,000 sq ft livestock market development, which will include a six-screen ODEON cinema, an 85,000 sq ft department store, a 25,000 sq ft Waitrose as well as 60,000 sq ft of additional retail and leisure.

The scheme received outline planning permission last month and is expected to be completed in autumn 2013.

Strutt & Parker is advising Stanhope.

All parties declined to comment.
