St Modwen Homes strikes £18.5m housing deal

St Modwen Homes has formed an £18.5m partnership with housing provider Sage Housing to deliver 91 affordable and shared ownership homes at its Heathy Wood development, in West Sussex.

Sage Housing will operate and market the homes. The development will bring St Modwen closer to its target of delivering 20,000 new homes across the country by 2022.

Dave Smith, managing director of St Modwen Homes, said: “We want to give as many people as possible the opportunity to live in a St Modwen home, and we are doing so by collaborating with providers that share our values; Sage is young, ambitious, customer-focused and committed to providing housing at a time when stock is in short supply.”

Last week, St Modwen announced former Legal & General and Cala Homes executive James Lidgate as its new senior director for strategic land and planning.

Lidgate will take up an initial 12-month contract at the firm’s strategic land and regeneration division, which focuses on master-developing residential communities, including releasing land for housebuilding and other housing tenures, and regeneration projects.
