Solaris Real Estate’s proposals to transform a disused carpark into 386 build-to-rent homes at Castleton Works in Leeds have been deferred by the city planning panel.
It has been asked to hold further discussion around the provision of greenspace and affordable housing as well as mitigate design issues.
The 1.8-acre site is located close to Leeds city centre and has been proposed as a car-free development and includes 231 cycle spaces and 2,000 sq ft of commercial space.
Solaris Real Estate is working for UCR Leeds to deliver the scheme, which was designed by Woods Bagot. The plans have been submitted to the local council in August last year.
