Lawyers hit the peak of fundraising

Lawyers from Charles Russell Speechlys’ real estate, construction and infrastructure team have completed the Welsh 3000s challenge for Dementia UK.

The 48-hour mountaineering challenge, started on 14 May, involved climbing 15 peaks equivalent to half the height of Everest over two days, including a 15-hour marathon climbing session on day one.

Charles Russell Speechlys has already smashed its fundraising target, and the current amount raised is over £27,000.

This is the largest single-event fundraising total which Dementia UK has received and it is already the largest single-event sum achieved in the history of the firm.

Capita Real Estate Plumstead Manor SchoolDesigns on youth development

Capita Real Estate is helping to inspire young Londoners pursue a future in the built environment through its sponsorship of the Design Engineer Construct course run by Class of Your Own.

The property consultancy is sponsoring Plumstead Manor School, SE18, and UCL academy to run the courses in Greenwich, SE10, and Camden, NW1. These will allow business experts to engage with teachers and students by sharing their industry knowledge and experience alongside partner Atkins.

The accredited learning programme for secondary school students has been developed to create and inspire the next generation of built environment professionals.

Amy Ross, learning and development manager at Capita Real Estate, said: “Too few young people have a good understanding of the scope of opportunity open to them with a built environment career. Helping to deliver the DEC course is one of the ways we are thinking about improving young people’s awareness of Capita and careers in real estate.”
