CBRE Global Investors claims the latest stage in a £40m overhaul of its 10 Brindleyplace office scheme in Birmingham will make it one of the country’s most technologically advanced office buildings.
The company is introducing a smart building platform from Smart Spaces, which will offer occupiers contactless access through speed lanes and QR codes, the ability to book services and meeting spaces remotely and control functions such as heating, lighting and air quality monitoring.
Nick White, asset manager at CBRE GI, said: “10 Brindleyplace was designed pre-Covid to be a market-leading workplace, offering employees a dynamic environment to work, meet and collaborate as well as offering the best of technology, sustainability and wellness.
“These credentials have now taken on even greater importance because of the pandemic and the Smart Spaces technology that we are installing ensures we are offering occupiers the very best office space fit for the future.”
The redevelopment of 10 Brindleyplace is due to complete next year and is the largest construction project at the site since it was completed in 2009. The scheme, which combines 10 and 8 Brindleyplace, will create 210,000 sq ft of grade A office space.
CBRE and Savills are acting as joint agents for the office space.
