Opting for 62,000 sq ft at Allied London’s Leeds Dock for its new technology facility, Sky had ambitions to create the best workspace in the north of England.
The space would be occupied by 400 tech specialists working across Sky’s next generation of websites and apps, and with a new graduate scheme in place it was key that the hub could accommodate a growing workforce.
The new digital development centre, consisting of three adjoining buildings, has a mezzanine fit-out. Giant panels of graffiti salvaged from hoardings around the Clarence Docks redevelopment cover walls and table tops in the café.
There are “unbookable” meeting spaces, mobile meeting pods upholstered with sound-dampening material, a filming studio, bespoke rolling whiteboards, presentation areas and a police interrogation-style room with two-way mirror, to be used for customer research.
