Sky Betting & Gaming is to take on more office space in Leeds at MEPC’s Wellington Place.
The company’s parent group, Stars Group, has agreed a deal with MEPC for Sky Betting & Gaming to take up all the 135,000 sq ft of office space available at 4 Wellington Place.
The firm currently occupies around 80,000 sq ft across two buildings at the same development, 2 Wellington Place and 6 Wellington Place. It is understood
that it plans to move staff out of these buildings and consolidate its operations at 4 Wellington Place.
Stars Group announced in April last year that it had acquired Sky Betting & Gaming from CVC Capital Partners and Sky for $4.7bn (£3.7bn).
MEPC’s wider Wellington Place development spans 14 plots and will total 1.5m sq ft when complete.
The firm’s plans to expand come as occupier interest in Leeds continues apace, boosted by Channel 4 selecting the city as its new HQ last year.
In Q1 2019, take-up reached 222,318 sq ft, meaning the city is well on its way to hitting its five-year average of 660,000 sq ft, according to Savills.
Television companies Wise Owl, UKTV and Worker Bee have signalled their intention to move to Leeds on the back of the Channel 4 announcement.
It is understood Colliers International is advising Stars Group. JLL and Savills are agents on 4 Wellington Place.
Stars Group, MEPC, Colliers International, JLL and Savills were approached for comment.
