Equinox, one of the highest-profile office developments in Glasgow, has changed hands for over £21m. Private overseas investor clients of Hamptons International Commercial this week bought the 5,975 sq m (64,000 sq ft) scheme from Equinox 2001, a joint venture between Taylor Clark Properties and Wilson Bowden Developments.

Outgoing Crown Estate chief executive Sir Christopher Howes today unveiled a tenth successive rise in revenues for the £4bn estate. The portfolio includes over 600 commercial properties as well as Windsor Castle and 300,000 acres of land in England and Scotland.

Taylor Woodrow (TW) has bought a batch of Scottish sites totalling around 60ha (150 acres) for £4.5m from Scottish Enterprise. TW plans to develop an 18,580 sq m (200,000 sq ft) business park at the former Philipshill hospital at East Kilbride, and an industrial and office estate at the town’s Peel Park sites, which collectively span over 33ha (80 acres).
The Prime Minister will announce today that the government will axe plans to let councils levy a supplementary business rate. Tony Blair will instead authorise local authorities to establish small, US-style business improvement districts.
