Savills: Regional cities are key to growth

MIPIM 2016: If you want real growth look to the regional cities is the message from Savills’ head of UK development.

Speaking in a packed and noisy Savills café on the Croissette, Richard Rees described London as being fully priced and but the regions are “less so”.

“This is a market where people need to understand that their prices are accurate and reflect what buyers, occupiers and the users of property will pay for a product and if any product is overpriced there will be some concerns and delays with those schemes.

“There is much more to go in the regions particularly in the major cities – Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh – there is some real growth in some of those cities particularly in the commercial mixed-use sector.”
