Savills names new UK valuation boss

Savills has appointed Nick Harris as its new head of UK valuation, replacing Ian Malden in the role.

Malden will step down in the spring next year, after a decade serving as head of division. His career with Savills spans more than 30 years.

Malden will remain in the business part-time, in a client-facing and business development role.

During his time at the firm, Malden has expanded its footprint and strengthened the interaction between its UK and EMEA businesses. Savills also credits him with building on the firm’s loan security business, in particular with German and US banks.

Harris (main picture) will continue in his post as head of European cross-border valuation at Savills. He will be supported by head of valuation Scotland and Edinburgh office lead Craig Timney, who will become head of UK valuation operations.

Simon Collett, head of professional services at Savills, said the trio will “work together in the forthcoming months as Ian hands over, to plan the next phase of evolving our highly successful, market-leading valuation service”.

Malden said: “Savills boasts one of the largest valuation capabilities across multiple sectors and it has been a great pleasure to lead the division.”

Harris, who is also head of strategic advisory EMEA at Savills, said: “We have seen a transformation in the way we value, and the technology that we have adopted to assist with this service offering, and it is an exciting time to drive the business forward.”
