SAP relocates North West team to new hub near Manchester

German software firm SAP has taken a 2,395 sq ft office space at Glasshouse, Alderley Park, near Macclesfield. The company is moving to a new northern hub amid its plans to invest up to €4bn (£3.4bn) in the UK over the next five years.

SAP is planning to relocate more than 100 employees to a new workspace. Glasshouse, which opened in February 2020, is home to more than 80 businesses specialising in AI, fintech, digital health and software development, as well as digital communications and animation.

The company believes that its relocation to Alderley Park, which is part of Bruntwood SciTech’s network of innovation districts – along with the consolidation of its Warrington and Knutsford offices – will support its access to a greater pool of digital talent across the region and the wider UK.

Michiel Verhoeven, managing director of SAP UK & Ireland, said: “The North West has a thriving talent pool and creates huge opportunities for the tech sector. Our growing commitment to the UK as a whole means investing in the right people and the right locations, and Alderley Park helps us achieve both of those.”
