Royal London takes top floors at EightyFen

Royal London has taken 55,000 sq ft at EightyFen, EC3, to be its new London HQ.

EightyFen’s owners, YardNine and Partners Group, said the insurer will occupy the top four floors of the 14-storey grade-A office development, joining Arcadis, which took 40,000 sq ft across floors five and six earlier this year.

EightyFen was completed in October 2020 and provides more than 240,000 sq ft of offices, rated BREEAM Excellent and WiredScore Platinum.

YardNine director Maxwell Shand said: “To secure a large letting with an occupier of Royal London’s calibre after the uncertainty of the past 18 months is a strong endorsement, not only of the ongoing importance of the office as a hub of innovation and collaboration, but of the quality of the space available at EightyFen.”

Darren Smith, head of estates at Royal London, praised the sustainability of the space, as well as its smart technology. “The property provides us with the flexibility to develop new ways of working and to meet our evolving business needs, enabling productivity all within the heart of the City.”

Knight Frank and JLL advised YardNine; Cushman & Wakefield and Gowlings WLP acted for Royal London.
