Revamp for Labour party HQ

63-Buckingham-Gate-CGI-570

Consent has been given to redevelop the Labour party’s Victoria HQ as part of a new residential and office quarter in the heart of SW1.

Westminster city council last night approved plans by Hong Kong firm Anquila Corporation for a mixed-use makeover of 63-65 Buckingham Gate and 1-2 Brewer’s Green.

With London & Oriental as development manager, the Fletcher Priest Architects-designed plans include revamping the central building to include 65 flats and 31,043 sq ft of offices.

The adjoining properties where the Labour party leases space will be demolished and replaced with two assets.

The council praised the plans and voted unanimously in favour of them.

There is no on- or off-site affordable housing, but the applicant agreed to pay £3.6m in lieu.

Full vacant possession is available from early 2016.

JLL advised on planning.
