MIPIM 2016: Regional developers looking for the quickest turnaround in planning permission should head to Renfrewshire, where it takes an average of 70.3 days.
Figures from EGi Research put the council top in terms of days to permission over the past three years. Renfrewshire council was one working week quicker than the next closest council, Wolverhampton, which takes an average of 75.5 days for planning to be achieved.
Regionally, London has had to deal with the greatest number of planning applications across all sectors over the past three years. It dealt with 568 residential planning applications, 369 office applications and 332 retail submissions. The capital even led the way in terms of industrial planning applications, with 60 submitted – almost double that of second-placed council Birmingham.
