Shares in Regus dropped 12%, or 39.5p, as Merrill Lynch placed 30m shares around the 260p a share level.
It placed them on behalf of Pelham Partners and Apollo.
Regus announced the acquisition of Stratis Business Centres for $10m (£7m).
