You wouldn’t be wrong in associating Southampton with ports, shipping containers and cruise ships.
But the city is pushing its image to a whole new field: curing cancer.
In January, the University of Southampton opened the Centre of Cancer Immunology, with a £25m investment to research how to harness the body’s immune system to fight the disease as if it were a regular infection.
