Ahead of World Suicide Prevention Day on 10 September, Oliver Burchell, a trainee surveyor at Allsop, is gearing up to lift a whopping 148,145kg over the course of 24 hours in honour of the occasion.
Burchell, 26, has a close personal connection to the issue, after coming close to taking his own life in October 2012.
Now, he plans to lift 1kg for every person who has taken their own life during his lifetime, raising £148,145 for mental health charities in the process.
The event takes place on 10 September. Donations will go towards YoungMinds, CALM and MIND charities, and can be made here.
