PwC Edinburgh deal confirmed

Edinburgh city council has confirmed accountancy giant PwC has signed to take 32,000 sq ft across the entire fourth floor of the 200,000 sq ft Atria One building in the city.

PwC has signed a 20-year lease, believed to be at a rent of circa £30 per sq ft. PwC will relocate from its office on Queen Street in Edinburgh where it has a lease break in two years and plans to be operational in Atria by spring 2014.

PwC’s relocation to the newly completed building means it is now 50% let. The firm will join existing tenants Brewin Dolphin and the Green Investment Bank which have already confirmed their move.

Frank Ross, convenor of the economy committee of the city of Edinburgh council, said: “We worked hard to deliver terms that fulfilled PwC’s business requirements whilst also meeting our own objectives so we are delighted to welcome PwC to Atria One.”

Paul Harrington, real estate director at PwC, added: “The location, the large and flexible floor space, combined with its progressive design have made the Atria the ideal choice for PwC.”

Atria Edinburgh marks the completion of The Exchange business district and is split between two buildings (Atria One and Two), comprising nearly 200,000 sq ft of accommodation.

Atria One provides 186,008 sq ft of space over seven floors, while the smaller Atria Two provides 12,922 sq ft split over two levels.

Savills advised PwC; Montagu Evans and Jones Lang LaSalle are letting agents for Atria.
