PropSki 2023: Property at its peak

More than 580 UK property professionals descended on Val Thorens in the French Alps at the end of January for the 10th anniversary of PropSki.

The annual event brings real estate professionals together to network, hit the slopes and partake in a little competition. Kicking off the trip was an informative forum with EG editor Samantha McClary during which a panel of industry experts shared insights on the industrial, commercial, planning and residential sectors. Hosted in the basement of a Val Thorens nightclub, this was an EG and PropSki first.

Blessed with near-perfect conditions, the PropSkiers got to enjoy the largest ski area in Europe, with some 600km of slopes to ride, and a jam-packed itinerary of events. A special guest appearance at the Long Story Short Apres saw the former England rugby union legend James Haskell play out a three-hour DJ set in -20°C for the PropSki crowd.

During the Colliers Mountain Meal, more than £14,000 was raised for charities (the Elifar Foundation, LandAid and POW UK), bringing the total raised by PropSki organiser PropEvents to more than £200,000 since its inception in 2012.

The Macdonald & Company race day drew a large crowd to compete for the PropSki silverware and bragging rights. Race commentary was provided by Protect Our Winters general manager Lauren MacCallum, who recently appeared on the BBC’s Ski Sunday.
