ProLogis has unveiled details of a £250m business park on a former golf-course in
Outline plans have been submitted to the city council for a 90-acre scheme, off
ProLogis intends to build some 1.75m sq ft of space; mainly in large sustainable manufacturing and distribution units, but with some small and medium-sized units.
The scheme will also include 145 homes, and the refurbishment of a Grade 11-listed 17th century farmhouse, previously used as the golf club shop.
The site, close to the M606, has been earmarked by the local authority as a strategic employment site since the late 1980s.
ProLogis’ involvement began last November when it bought the land from a private members’ golf club for an undisclosed sum.
If permission is granted by autumn, infrastructure work should begin before the year-end.
No-one at ProLogis was available to explain how many phases will be involved, or if the scheme will begin with speculative space.
However, the first units should be ready in early 2009, and the project is expected to last five years.

Leeds-based Dove, Haigh and Philips are the sole agents.
