Bridgemere Land and Foundation Capital Ventures have tasked Bidwells and Savills with attracting tenants to their £100m Cambridge Discovery Campus.
The mandate comes as work begins on the 343,000 sq ft science and innovation campus, located to the south of Cambridge. Vertase FLI has been appointed to undertake demolition and remediation works on the 50-acre site ahead of the development of six lab-enabled buildings.
The scheme, designed to support small to medium-sized ventures, was given the go-ahead by the local council last year. The development, which is targeting a BREEAM Outstanding rating, will be one of the first fossil fuel-free campuses in Cambridge.
The proposals also feature an amenity building overlooking sports fields to be shared with the local community, and a 30-acre country park.
Will Heath, chief executive at Bridgemere, said: “Cambridge’s reputation as a leading international life sciences cluster continues to strengthen.
“The Cambridge Discovery Campus vision is to make its own contribution to the continued future success of the innovation sectors via the provision of research and development buildings set within an environment that prioritises occupier well-being, whilst enhancing the immediate environment for the surrounding community to enjoy.”
Rob Sadler, partner at Foundation Capital Ventures, added: “The strategic location of Cambridge Discovery Campus is second to none. Within the next six months you will be able to step off a train at the newly opened Cambridge South Station, grab a scooter or jump on a bike and be at Cambridge Discovery Campus within 15 minutes.”
