As Pokémon Go fever continues, Hammerson shopping centres are helping wannabe trainers running low on phone battery power by providing portable chargers.
The “Recharge Rescuers” will be at Highcross Leicester and Brent Cross shopping centres tomorrow, helping fans on their quest to catch ’em all.
While the centres both have lockable charging stations, the staff will be touring around – particularly around PokeStops and gyms – offering portable battery chargers to customers who are running low on fuel.
Brent Cross and Highcross have two PokeStops between them and amongst the wider Hammerson portfolio, there is a total of four gyms and 27 PokeStops where the scheme may be rolled out depending on its success.
Fiona Campbell-Roberts, UK head of marketing, Hammerson, said, “Pokémon Go has taken the UK by storm and as we’ve now hit the school holiday season, we know our customers, especially those with young families will want to keep playing, even whilst they shop. Our Recharge Rescuers will be on hand to help people power up on the go and keep on playing for longer.”
