Plusnet takes 53,000 sq ft in Sheffield

Internet service provider Plusnet has taken 53,000 sq ft in CBRE Global Investors’ 160,000 sq ft The Balance scheme in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

Quoting rents at the scheme, which was previously known as City Plaza, are £14 per sq ft.

CBRE Global Investors bought the building for £24m from Delek Global Real Estate, Princeton Investments and Patron Capital in 2007. It was refurbished earlier this year.

Sheffield-based Plusnet operates from two sites in Sheffield and will complete its move into The Balance by the end of May 2012.

Tim Bottrill, partner at Knight Frank, which acted for Plusnet, said: “This is the biggest office letting within Sheffield for the last two years.”

Jamie Ford, chief executive of Plusnet, said: “With such rapid expansion over the last two years, this move will enable all business operations, including our customer services, to remain together under one roof. This is something incredibly unique for a telecoms provider in the UK.”
