Platform acquires riverside site in Bristol

Platform has acquired a 1.8-acre riverside site in Bristol for a residential development that will provide over 300 homes.

The proposed development on Eugene Street overlooks the River Frome. Platform is targeting to submit a planning submission to Bristol City Council in January 2025.

Ahead of this, the developer will hold a series of stakeholder and community consultation events about the proposed scheme.

The site has been earmarked for residential development in the Bristol City Council’s Frome Gateway Spatial Regeneration Framework.

Platform intends to include flexible employment space on the ground floor, a riverside walk, and a pocket park in its proposals.

Stewart Knight, acquisitions director at Platform, said: “We were attracted by the combination of a strong local economy, excellent demographics and a real shortage of high quality, well-managed rental accommodation.

“We are looking forward to working with the city’s planners to bring forward a planning application to deliver much needed new housing.”

Jean-Marc Vandevivere, chief executive at Platform, said: “This will be the 12th BTR project for Platform, taking our operational and under-development pipeline to over 4,000 units with a completed value of £1.3bn.”
