Great Western Developments and Sellar Property Group have submitted plans for what would be the tallest tower in the West End.
Plans for Paddington Place at 31 London Street, W2, include a 833 ft residential tower, 100,000 sq ft of offices, 50,000 sq ft of shops and restaurants and more than an acre of public realm around Paddington Station.
Designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop, the architect which worked with Sellar on the Shard, SE1, the scheme also includes a sky garden and rooftop restaurant.
The application submitted to Westminster city council slightly increases the height of the “crystal light-reflecting tower”, which was originally proposed at 735 ft at a public consultation earlier this year.
Great Western Developments is a subsidiary of Singaporean-listed Hotel Properties.
Chris Lim, group executive director at Hotel Properties, said: “This is a unique opportunity involving an investment of over £1bn to provide many public benefits and a scheme which we believe will drive further investment in the wider area.”
