Outline plans for a 309-acre business park and residential scheme near Lisburn City, Northern Ireland, have been submitted.
The project, a jv between local developer Killultagh Properties and Snoddons Construction, will be well located at the junction of province’s two motorways, the M1 and the A1 which connect Belfast to both the west and the south of the province.
The business park will accommodate about 1m sq ft of offices, light industrial, warehousing and logistical space.
In addition there will be 200,000 sq ft of car showrooms, a hotel, separate riverside restaurant, 1,100 homes and local neighbourhood shops.
The developers do not intend to include a significant retail or retail warehousing element as these are currently being met by the Sprucefield Shopping Centre which is on the other side of the M1 from the business park.
Snoddons is a joint venture partner in Sprucefield and it has retained its interest there after Westfield took over the stake previously held by Stannifer.
Fronting onto Blaris Road, Priests Lane, Knockmore Road and Moira Road, the new business park will also include primary school, community and social facilities.
Killultagh has undertaken a number of projects in Northern Ireland and is also a partner with ING in the redevelopment of Belfast’s North-eastern quarter.
Killutagh Estates also owns The Regent Shopping Centre in Kirkintilloch, Strathclyde, Scotland.
