Plans revealed for Liverpool Waters’ Central Docks District

MIPIM 2017: New images have been revealed of Liverpool Waters’ £5bn redevelopment of the Central Docks district, alongside eight new plots for development at the site.

The Central Docks neighbourhood forms part of Liverpool’s waterfront redevelopment and covers 150 acres of the city’s docklands.

Plans include more than 2,000,000 sq ft of mixed-use floorspace including 750,000 sq ft of offices and more than 1,000 apartments in towers of up to 44 storeys.

The masterplan for Liverpool Waters was announced ten years ago, though progress has so far been limited to the Princes Dock neighbourhood.

However, there have been moves to obtain detailed planning permission for the whole site and by the end of the year more than £300m of construction work is expected to have started onsite.

Lindsey Ashworth, director of development, said: “Unveiling this southern part of the Central Docks neighbourhood marks the next chapter in the Liverpool Waters story and brings us one step closer to re-establishing Liverpool’s waterfront as a gateway to the world.”
