Logistics developer Tritax Symmetry has lodged expansion plans for its Symmetry Park industrial estate in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, comprising 930,000 sq ft of industrial space.
The third phase of development comes on the back of strong take up of facilities developed as part of the previous phases, with the scheme fully let prior to completion.
Wholesaler Bidfood has taken Unit 02, totalling 160,000 sq ft, while Bowman Ingredients has occupied Unit 03, measuring 75,000 sq ft. The announcement follows a commitment from Noatum Logistics late last year to take the speculatively developed Unit 04, spanning across 230,000 sq ft and Bond International occupying 112,000 sq ft.
Phase One of the project is occupied by the Co-operative Group and houses their 661,000 sq ft regional distribution centre.
Tritax Symmetry development director Tom Leeming said: “The development has brought in excess of £100m of investment to Biggleswade and Central Bedfordshire with the additional benefit of creating hundreds of new jobs.”
Colliers and Bidwells are joint letting agents for the scheme. Solace Property Consultancy advised Bidfood. Cushman & Wakefield represented Noatum Logistics. Colliers advised Bowman Ingredients.
