Plans have been lodged for the construction of one of Europe’s largest data centres on land near South Killingholme.
The application for Humber Tech Park was submitted to North Lincolnshire Council by the development vehicle behind the project.
If approved, the scheme is expected to create up to £3bn investment and almost 400 jobs.
The park, designed by Future-tech, will comprise 3.3m sq ft of data centres across three buildings. It aims to provide an IT load of up to 384MW.
The scheme is expected to meet a minimum of BREEAM Very Good standard.
Rob Waltham, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: “North Lincolnshire already has a number of companies that provide significant employment in the technology sector and these new proposals show a massive vote of confidence in our economy, helping us to continue to transform the area into a tech superpower.”
Pegasus Group is advising on planning matters.
