Plans in for £500m Admiralty Arch hotel

Prime Investors Capital has submitted a planning application for the development of Admiralty Arch, SW1, into a luxury hotel and private members’ club.

The £500m project comprises a 100-bedroom Waldorf Astoria hotel and 12,000 sq ft of private members’ club and residences, designed by architects Blair Associates.

Westminster City Council policy requires developers to match any uptick in commercial space with residential provision. As such, the developer will provide £1m towards affordable housing delivery.

Prime Investors Capital, founded by Rafael Serrano, bought a 250-year lease on the building from the government in 2015, paying an initial £60m, with the intention of investing a further £100m in the conversion.

The developer instructed JLL to secure funding for the scheme in May. The project is scheduled to complete in 2022.

The plans can be viewed at Westminster Council’s planning portal, using the reference 19/05545.
