The team behind a £175m waterfront build-to-rent scheme at Titanic Quarter in Belfast has lodged a planning application for 780 homes.
Lacuna Developments and Watkin Jones, in partnership with Titanic Quarter and Belfast Harbour, will develop the Loft Lines scheme on Queen’s Island.
The group agreed the partnership at the start of this year and has since worked up plans with Todd Architects.
The Loft Lines scheme will see three blocks of flats, a 1-acre park and a 1km-long waterfront promenade, with amenities including residents’ lounges, flexible working space, private dining and a cinema.
The scheme could see the first build-to-rent in Belfast and will include 20% affordable housing.
Andrew Murray, director at Todd Architects, said: “While our design for the Loft Lines respects the important industrial heritage of the site, it also looks to the future of urban living, creating a vibrant lifestyle-first community that encourages sustainable and healthy living.
“This new riverside community says everything about Belfast’s confidence and ambition, and we are proud to play a continuing role in the development of this evolving city.”
